AR Level: 3.9 Points: .5
Interest Level: Lower Grades

Set long ago in the Italian village of Calabria, this is the tale of an old lady that everyone called Strega Nona. She is a medicine woman of sorts, and everyone goes to visit her to be helped by her magic touch. One day, Big Anthony comes to work for her. After explaining his duties, Strega Nona tells him that he must NEVER touch the pasta pot, because it is very valuable. One evening Big Anthony is amazed to see Strega Nona talk to the pot and cause it to cook pasta all by itself when she says some magic words. Find out what happens when Strega Nona leaves Anthony alone in the house while she runs errands.

Teachers: This is a great book for stressing the importance of following rules.
